Traditional septic tanks are mainly made of brick and concrete structures, and there are also reinforced concrete structures. However, the manufacturing process is relatively simple, lacking technical content, making them prone to leakage and blockage, with poor water treatment effects. This leads to pollution of the surrounding environment and increases the burden on downstream sewage treatment plants. Additionally, the construction process is complex and time-consuming, failing to meet the requirements of environmental protection departments and construction parties. Therefore, the market urgently needs a more suitable and perfect product. Thus, fiberglass septic tanks have emerged. Due to the special nature of the raw materials, fiberglass septic tanks are lightweight, high-strength, non-corrosive, leak-proof, and have outstanding water treatment effects. They are also easy to install; simply digging a pit for burial is sufficient, addressing the shortcomings of traditional septic tanks.
Traditional septic tanks are mainly made of brick and concrete structures, and there are also reinforced concrete structures, but the manufacturing process is relatively simple, lacking technical content, prone to leakage and blockage, and the water treatment effect is poor, polluting the surrounding environment and increasing the burden on downstream sewage treatment plants. The construction process is complex and the construction period is long, failing to meet the requirements of environmental protection departments and builders. Therefore, the market urgently needs a more suitable and perfect product.
Thus, fiberglass septic tanks were born. Due to the special nature of its raw materials, fiberglass septic tanks are lightweight, high-strength, non-corrosive, leak-proof, have excellent water treatment effects, and are easy to install—just dig a pit and bury it. This product compensates for all the shortcomings of traditional septic tanks and has been recognized and praised by environmental protection and construction departments at all levels.
The development of fiberglass septic tanks can be roughly divided into four stages:
The first stage product is square-shaped, with the top and bottom slightly smaller; if separated, it forms two trapezoidal shapes. During processing, two groove-shaped molds are first created and then combined to form a finished product. This product addresses the shortcomings of traditional products that are not resistant to corrosion and are prone to leakage and blockage, but its tightness is still not good enough, and its compressive strength is average, making it impossible to produce large products.
The second stage product is basically a horizontally lying cylinder, but the top and bottom are still designed as flat surfaces. Wheel-shaped convex and concave end caps begin to be used. Because it is a cylindrical mold, products in this stage are generally connected using a butt joint method. The compressive performance of this product is better than that of the first stage, but its tightness is still acceptable, and the processing procedure for this product is complex, which is not conducive to factory production.
The third stage product is a corrugated fiberglass septic tank. The end caps are designed with mechanical performance convex and concave surfaces, and the shape is a corrugated horizontal cylindrical body formed in one piece. The unique circumferential dense corrugated structure design enhances compressive and impact strength several times compared to square, cylindrical, and spherical arch types, meeting different usage conditions without any additional reinforcement measures. It is currently a product with internationally leading comprehensive performance technology.
