Fiberglass reinforced sand pipes are a new type of composite material made from resin as the matrix material, fiberglass and its products as the reinforcing material, and quartz sand as the filling material. They have excellent corrosion resistance, hydraulic characteristics, lightweight and high strength, large flow capacity, easy installation, short construction period, and low overall investment, making them an ideal choice for chemical, drainage, and pipeline engineering.

Glass fiber reinforced sand pipeIt is a new type of composite material made of resin as the matrix material, glass fiber and its products as the reinforcement material, and quartz sand as the filler material. It has excellent corrosion resistance, hydraulic characteristics, light weight and high strength, large flow capacity, convenient installation, short construction period, and low overall investment, making it an ideal choice for chemical, drainage, and pipeline engineering.
Comparison between glass fiber reinforced sand pipe and PE (polyethylene) pipe:

1. Designability of pipeline structure. According to the required internal and external pressure and specific construction conditions on site, with working pressures ranging from 0.1 to 2.5 MPa and stiffness grades greater than or equal to 2500 Pa, economical structural design of glass fiber reinforced sand pipes suitable for hydraulic conditions can be carried out, showing strong designability. In contrast, PE plastic pipes and ductile iron pipes have only a few specified pressure grades, and the rigidity grades of PE plastic pipes are limited to 4000 Pa and 8000 Pa, which have certain limitations in engineering practice.

2. Comparison of impermeability.Glass fiber reinforced sand pipeUsing double O-ring rubber seals for connection. During installation, a single-port pressure test is conducted at the joint 100% to ensure that the sealing performance of the joint is 100% qualified. In addition, since glass fiber reinforced plastic is a high-density composite material, the pipe body cannot leak water from the inside out, nor can it allow water to leak in from the outside (for example, sewage leaking from the pipe can affect the water quality inside the pipe). In summary, the impermeability of glass fiber reinforced sand pipes is superior to that of PE plastic pipes and ductile iron pipes.

3. Transportation, installation, and maintenance.Glass fiber reinforced sand pipeThe socket connection of the double O-ring rubber seal is very convenient and quick, and the installation tools are also very simple. In contrast, PE plastic pipes are constrained by the on-site environment, and the fusion welding of on-site joints requires welding equipment, resulting in slower installation speed and longer joint time. In terms of technical requirements for installation, glass fiber reinforced sand pipes are superior to PE plastic pipes because the installation technology requirements for PE plastic pipes are much stricter to prevent long-term creep.

4. Price. Whether from the unit price of the pipe material or from the overall cost,Glass fiber reinforced sand pipethe price is more economical than PE plastic pipes. Compared to the same diameter, the unit price of glass fiber reinforced sand pipes is less than 10% lower. For projects with the same water supply volume, the overall cost of glass fiber reinforced pipes is less than 20%.

5. Frost resistance. Glass fiber pipes are flexible pipes with high elongation at break, good elasticity, and low thermal conductivity, only 1/233 of that of ductile iron pipes, making them a non-metallic thermal insulation material. Additionally, due to the high circumferential tensile strength and axial tensile strength of glass fiber reinforced sand pipes, even if the pipe is filled with water and completely frozen, it will not crack. Generally, glass fiber pipes buried in cold regions can be 1/3 to 1/2 within the frozen layer without affecting usage.

In terms of strength and stiffness,Glass fiber reinforced sand pipeit has excellent characteristics. Relatively speaking, PE (polyethylene) pipes are lower. From the aspects of strong designability of pipeline structure, impermeability of pipeline connections, transportation and installation, frost resistance of pipes, and price, glass fiber reinforced sand pipes are superior to PE plastic pipes and more competitive.
