Fiberglass pipes have been widely used in industries such as petroleum, electric power, chemical engineering, papermaking, urban water supply and drainage, factory wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, and gas transportation due to their unique advantages, including strong corrosion resistance, smooth inner surface, low energy consumption for transportation, long service life, convenient transportation and installation, low maintenance costs, and low overall cost. Therefore, when we receive fiberglass pipes, we should check whether the received fiberglass pipes are qualified to avoid damage during use. Below are several methods for the acceptance inspection of fiberglass pipes: (1) Check the radial deviation value. According to the specifications, the radial deviation of the fiberglass pipes should be checked 24 hours after installation.

Fiberglass pipes have been widely used in industries such as petroleum, electricity, chemical engineering, papermaking, urban water supply and drainage, factory wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, and gas transmission due to their unique advantages of strong corrosion resistance, smooth inner surface, low energy consumption for transportation, long service life, convenient transportation and installation, low maintenance costs, and low overall cost.

So when we receive fiberglass pipes, we should check whether the fiberglass pipes we received are qualified to avoid damage during use.

Here are several methods for accepting fiberglass pipes:

(1) Check the radial deviation value. According to the specifications, the initial radial deviation of the pipe should be tested within 24 hours after the installation of the fiberglass pipe, and there should be no swelling, flattening, or other sudden changes in the pipe.

(2) Water pressure test. To comprehensively check the installation quality of the pipe, the test methods specified in the "Water Supply Engineering Construction and Acceptance Specifications" for drainage pipe projects can be followed, allowing for leakage according to fiberglass pipe standards.

(3) Since fiberglass pipes use a socket type double O-ring connection, each installed pipe must be pressed at the socket to test the sealing effect of the double O-ring. The pressure test pump directly applies water pressure through the test hole at the top of the pipe to 1.5 times the working pressure of the pipe. When the pump stops (with the drainage valve open during operation), observe for 2 minutes. If the pressure drop is less than 5% of the test pressure and there is no leakage from the nozzle, the nozzle pressure test is qualified. If the pressure drops rapidly, it indicates poor sealing, and reinstallation is needed to ensure the overall success of the pressure test of the fiberglass pipe system.

To prevent construction defects in fiberglass pipes from causing pipe penetration, we can also take the following two measures to avoid defects: 1. Try to avoid outdoor laying to prevent direct UV exposure to fiberglass pipes. 2. Another point is that we need to use centrifugally cast sand pipes to ensure that the pipe wall is compact under centrifugal action, preventing cracks and delamination, which will greatly improve product quality.
